Ingredients

  • 100 g mini veggie pasta
  • 200 ml vegetable broth
  • 50 g diced carrots
  • 50 g peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 50 g diced zucchini
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley (finely chopped, for flavor) optional

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Chef's knife
  • Heatproof mixing bowl
  • Rubber spatula or wooden spoon

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the vegetable broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the mini veggie pasta and cook according to package instructions until very soft, usually around 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Meanwhile, in a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat, then add the diced carrots and zucchini. Gently sauté for about 5 minutes or until softened.
  4. Add the peas to the veggie mixture and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring everything is tender.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, drain any excess broth if necessary and mix in the sautéed vegetables. Stir well to combine.
  6. Allow the pasta and vegetable mixture to cool slightly before serving in small portions for your baby.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle with finely chopped fresh herbs for added flavor.

Notes

For a fun twist, try swapping the veggies based on what you have at hand—sweet potatoes, spinach, or bell peppers work beautifully!
If your baby is ready for more texture, slightly reduce the cooking time of the pasta to allow for a little firmness.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of water to bring back moisture.
Enjoy the bonding experience of meal time—get your little one involved in exploring their food!
