In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pears and water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the pears are very soft and easily mashed with a fork.
Stir in the chia seeds and lemon juice. Allow to simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Using a blender or food processor, puree the mixture until smooth, or leave some soft lumps based on your baby’s preference.
For a thicker consistency, let the puree sit for 10 minutes to allow chia seeds to absorb more liquid.
Serve in small portions suitable for your baby, and store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
