  • 400 g sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 200 ml water or low-sodium vegetable broth
  • A pinch of cinnamon (for additional flavor)* optional

Equipment

  • Pot with lid
  • Chef's knife
  • Peeler (for cucumber ribbons)
  • Blender or food processor

Method

  1. Peel and dice the sweet potatoes into uniform pieces to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a pot, combine the diced sweet potatoes and water or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for about 20–25 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
  3. Using a blender or food processor, carefully transfer the cooked sweet potatoes and their cooking liquid. Blend until smooth, adding more liquid as needed to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Allow the puree to cool for 5 minutes. Serve in small portions appropriate for your baby’s age, and offer extra servings in the fridge for a few days or freeze leftovers for later use.
