Ingredients

  • 200 g chicken breast, boneless and skinless
  • 150 g carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 300 ml water or low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • a pinch salt
  • a sprinkle parsley for added flavor optional

Equipment

  • Cooking pot
  • Chef's knife
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Blender or food processor
  • Cookie scoop or tablespoon

Method

  1. Begin by preparing your ingredients: wash, peel, and chop the carrots; cut the chicken into small pieces.
  2. In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they start to brown lightly, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped carrots to the pot and pour in the water or chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until both the chicken and carrots are very soft.
  5. Once cooked, let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Transfer it to a blender or food processor and blend until you reach a smooth puree, adding more water or broth if needed to achieve your desired consistency.
  6. For a lumpier texture, process the mixture for a shorter time to incorporate small soft pieces.
  7. Allow the puree to cool before serving it to your baby. Store any leftovers in the fridge and consume within 48 hours.
