Ingredients

  • 200 g fresh cherries, pitted
  • 150 g fresh cranberries (or 100 g cranberry juice if out of season)
  • 500 ml lactose-free milk
  • 30 g chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp orange zest

Equipment

  • Blender (optional for smoother texture)
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Begin by washing the fresh cherries and cranberries. If using whole cranberries, you may want to slightly cook them in water for 5 minutes until they soften. Drain and let them cool.
  2. In a blender, combine the pitted cherries, cranberries, lactose-free milk, chia seeds, and honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter.
  3. Blend all ingredients on high until smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes, ensuring cherries and cranberries are fully puréed.
  4. If desired, add a handful of ice cubes to the blender and pulse for a few seconds until chilled and slightly frothy.
  5. Taste your milkshake and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Pour the milkshake into tall glasses and sprinkle with a pinch of orange zest on top for aroma and flavor.
  7. Serve immediately, either cold over ice or warm for an alternative version. Enjoy!
