Ingredients

  • 250 g zucchini
  • 200 g ground turkey
  • 50 ml low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 medium potato
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • a pinch mild ground herbs optional

Equipment

  • Cooking pot
  • Blender or food processor
  • Rubber spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a cooking pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until evenly browned, about 5-6 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally.
  2. Once the turkey is cooked, add the zucchini and potato to the pot, followed by the chicken broth.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are very tender.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until you reach a smooth puree with some small lumps, or adjust the texture according to your baby's readiness for more texture.
  6. If desired, add a pinch of mild herbs for flavor and blend briefly to incorporate.
  7. Allow the puree to cool completely before serving. Serve in small portions appropriate for your baby.
