Ingredients

  • 2 (approximately 250g, mashed) ripe bananas
  • 150g plain full-fat yogurt
  • 100ml (for cooking) water
  • A pinch of cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Fork or potato masher
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Masher or fork
  • Cooking spoon

Method

  1. Peel the ripe bananas and cut them into chunks. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth, leaving small lumps for texture.
  2. In a pot, combine the mashed bananas and water. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is warm and slightly thickened.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Stir in the yogurt until fully incorporated and the mixture is creamy.
  4. If desired, sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon for added flavor.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool to a safe temperature before serving in small portions to your baby. Ensure it's neither too hot nor too thick for their tiny mouths!

Notes

This recipe is a fantastic way to introduce your baby to new flavors! If your little one has dairy sensitivities, you can substitute yogurt with a dairy-free alternative like coconut yogurt. Feel free to experiment by adding a bit of pureed fruit, like apples or pears, for extra flavor. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 48 hours and simply reheat gently before serving. Enjoy this sweet, creamy adventure together with your baby!
