  • 200 g pumpkin, peeled and diced
  • 100 g canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 250 ml water or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (for added flavor) optional

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine the diced pumpkin and chickpeas with water or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the pumpkin is very tender.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, or pulse to achieve a chunky texture suitable for your baby.
  5. Stir in olive oil and mix well. If desired, add the ground cinnamon and blend again for a smoother consistency.
  6. Allow the puree to cool slightly before serving it in small portions.
