- In a saucepan, combine the diced pumpkin and chickpeas with water or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the pumpkin is very tender.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, or pulse to achieve a chunky texture suitable for your baby.
- Stir in olive oil and mix well. If desired, add the ground cinnamon and blend again for a smoother consistency.
- Allow the puree to cool slightly before serving it in small portions.
