Begin by peeling and dicing the sweet potato into small chunks for even cooking.
Place the diced sweet potato in a steamer pot and add water. Steam for about 15 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
While the sweet potato is steaming, place the salmon fillet in a separate pot with a small amount of water. Cover and cook on medium heat for approximately 10 minutes, until the salmon easily flakes with a fork.
Once both the sweet potato and salmon are cooked, transfer them to a mixing bowl.
Add olive oil and, if desired, a pinch of salt. Mash all the ingredients together using a fork or potato masher until you reach a smooth consistency. For a creamier texture, use a blender.
Let the mixture cool slightly before serving to your baby. Remember, the temperature should be safe for little mouths.
