Ingredients

  • 150 g salmon fillet, skinless and boneless
  • 200 g sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 50 ml water or low-sodium broth
  • A pinch of dill or parsley for flavor optional

Equipment

  • Pot or steamer
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Heatproof mixing bowl
  • Chef's knife

Method

  1. Start by peeling and dicing the sweet potato into small cubes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Place the diced sweet potato in a pot of water or broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Meanwhile, steam the salmon fillet in a separate basket or on a plate above the simmering sweet potatoes for about 10 minutes until fully cooked and flaky.
  5. Once the sweet potatoes are soft, drain any excess liquid and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  6. Add the cooked salmon to the bowl and mash together with a fork or potato masher until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency.
  7. If desired, mix in a pinch of dill or parsley for added flavor.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving in small portions for your little one to enjoy.
